True Remark Most of the negative remarks are about the weight (200+ lbs) or the instruction to put it together so I will address that first. This is my first Sauder product. I am a self proclaimed expert at putting together things especially ikea products and I have many of them. The desk is heavy which is a GOOD THING otherwise people will say it is flimsy.I will agree that the instructions to put it together do need some work. It took me 2+ hours to put it togetherCurrently you have to work on 1 item put it aside and start to work on second and then third, all separate items. It would be better if you have 1 piece as a base then start to build on it so you don’t have to constantly move from piece to piece individually and then put them together. Now let’s move on to real issues (my reason for 3 stars). I have to say their customer service (Family owned company) is awesome and they tried to assist in the best way possible (I had shipping damage related…
Great Desk Love this desk. Delivered with no issues, I was hesitant after reading some other reviews, decided to go for it. Super heavy, put together well. I consider myself above average assembling furniture and this took me a solid 3 hours. I would also add, definitely don’t try assembling if you’ve had a bad day or have a house full of kids screaming, it really does require some time with the instructions.
Not bad for the price, but… The directions are very well explained however if you follow them you will have difficulty when it comes to attaching the end pieces. The ends have screw-type-parts sticking out on 2 sides which makes it impossible to point some down into the holes while also sliding it sideways into other holes. You will eventually crack the wood (see photo). I did find a better way to do this. Rather than set the hub of the screw-type piece into the wood I placed the actual screw threads into the holes on the bottom and then slid the whole piece into place… side screws matched up and the bottom simply had to have the hubs pushed back into place. Easy peasy but not listed this way in the direction.Due to the issues I had while trying to attach the end pieces I have one file drawer that is not aligned properly (see picture). I will not take it apart to correct this because the wood is not intended to be assembled more than once. It will crumble if I try it. The misaligned drawer works so…
