Shreds Like My Cat – Over 40 Reams Processed in 3 Weeks Purchased for my sister’s home office. She had at least a 40 ream backlog. The small shredder she used would overheat after about 10 min max. This beast devoured that backlog. An excellent product. Manufacturer’s description is not hype.

Avoid – Doesn’t match advertised specs I’ve been looking for a good shredder, and I found this on sale for Prime Day 2018. Description says it can shred 10-14 traditional A2 copy paper sheets and touts the heavy duty engine that helps avoid paper jams and prevents the unit from overheating.Well, here’s the real truth … We started trying to shred the advertised 14 pages … nope, that didn’t work. Next, we tried 13, then 12, then 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 and finally it wasn’t until we got to 6 sheets before the unit finally worked … a far cry from the advertised 10-14 A2 sheets. The description also talks about the heavy duty motor that both helps avoid jams and keeps the unit from overheating. The truth is the unit repeatedly jammed, but not as often as it might have because it kept overheating after just 5-7 minutes of regular use. I’m not talking about continuous use, I’m talking about regular use of any home or home office where you are getting rid of bills or items with social security numbers, etc.I…

Quiet, works — excellent customer service We purchased this product in July 2018. It worked as advertised until January 2019. Then the automatic setting stopped functioning. That is, feeding paper into the slot would no longer turn on the device. One phone call to to Dahle USA and the customer service rep arranged for the shipment of a replacement, which arrived in a couple of days.We initially chose this paper shredder after our Amazon Basics shredder finally died. It, too, stopped functioning on auto mode within a year but we kept it because, well, we just did. Compared to the Amazon Basics unit, the Dahle shredder is much, much quiet — a key consideration in our selection. Both are meant for home use. The Dahle is easier to clean with its pullout compartment. On balance, I’d recommend this — for light-medium home use.
