Great Desk, but Frustrating Delivery! There were issues with delivery of the desk sold by Furniture Creations which I briefly explained in my seller review…and okay, I mention them here too because we often just go into the review of the product instead of the delivery issues. And we are limited on the number of characters and this needs to be stated here so you don’t run into the same problems I did. First, about the desk. The desk is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone who sees can’t believe I got it on Amazon and for such a great price. It is solid wood, has nice curves, good quality workmanship and is perfect for our home office. As other reviewers have noted, there are no holes for electronics, a negative for many. Next, the delivery. No matter what the seller tells you about white glove delivery for which you pay $100, the shipper couldn’t do it (deliver inside if there is even one small step). I learned this the hard way. Beautifully Crafted Piece! The desk arrived in A+ condition and the two service guys brought it to the door and placed it in our study. It is a VERY HEAVY piece but with some effort my wife and I were able to unpackage it and get it moved to the correct placement within the study. There was no damage to the desk, as noted by a few other reviewers that had some damage. We will be ordering the matching bookcases now that we know how much space it takes up in our study.The item also arrived nearly 2 weeks ahead of schedule and the delivery service called us to schedule a time and were prompt with keeping us informed of when they would be at the house so that we could plan accordingly.The only thing that we wish this desk had was a place for cords. Even with a Mac, the cord hangs over the back – and we aren’t sure where to put a hole in it to minimize the view of the cords. Other than that, perfect piece.
You and your visitors will be wowed by this solid piece of furniture! My desk arrived very well crated and styrofoamed. Reading reviews it was highly suggested I uncrate the desk to check for concealed damage before I signed. I did and there was no damage. This is a Solid desk. Nothing flimsy and very well constructed. There is a book case on the front of the desk behind the keyboard drawer foot space that doesn’t show in picture. I place this desk in my living room do divide my office area from my social area. Great room divider because it looks great from both sides. Virtually everyone who visits me comments on how “that’s a nice desk”. You will need about three hefty movers to move this 300# desk from the driveway to your living space. I am completely satisfied with this Amazon furniture purchase experience.
