âUltimateâ Best Pad Iâve Found The âUltimateâ is an extremely high-quality pad. The paper is very thick and weighty, so ink doesnât bleed through, and the pages do indeed tear off perfectly, though it might take a little practice to achieve it. The first pad I used began to accumulate paper at the top from pages torn off so that the remaining pages began to tear off jaggedly. I found that if every time you tear off a page you run your finger along the back of it a few times where it meets the top of the pad, then gently tug it when you flip it back over, it will tear off perfectly, even if there are other pages above it.This may seem like a lot to go into, but I write a great deal by hand and often need to put what Iâve written into three-ring binders or file it. I was using Staples pads, but they tore extremely jaggedly, so badly they were essentially worthless. Iâve also tried spiral notebooks with perforated pages but havenât found any that tear at all well – by the time youâre near the end of the…
Terrible quality control Terrible quality control. One pad had the top 10 pages cut shorter, at varying lenghts, than the rest of the pad. The pages that we cut short had the vertical red lines printed too far in from the margin.Another pad had a number of pages that were cut longer than the rest of the pages. On two other pads, the horizontal lines were not printed all the way to the bottom of the page. They stopped about four lines short.NO QUALITY CONTROL!!!
“Everyday” Soft and Cuddly Well, if you are looking for a pad that will stand up to wear and tear, lots of writing and packing in book bags, brief cases, etc., do NOT buy the “Everyday” legal pads. If you are looking for a legal pad you do not care to keep very long, hey, it’s paper in legal pad form. Just not good quality paper. Here’s the thing: the “Everyday” is flimsy and soft and thin. The border up top will peel away. The cardboard is soft. The paper is very thin and actually wrinkles. God forbid there is humidity in the air.Maybe TOPS was initially making toilet paper with blue lines and someone at the factory accidentally shipped it to the legal pad department? Not sure. It is fine for note-taking if you do not really care about the notes. Also, do not wipe with this paper–my toilet paper theory is only a theory.
